Friday 4/5, Golden Ram High School Invitational, West Chester University

Under less than Ideal conditions, to say the least, E&S boys & girls track team proved they will be a force to reckon with this outdoor season. With Temperatures in the low 40’s and raining, E&S accumulated multiple top five finishes, including a fourth place finish by Sydnei Scipio in the girls’ 100 m, to go along with a multitude seasons bests.

Iyanna Campbell turned in the highlight of the meet, winning her section of the 300m hurdles by more than a second over the rest of the field, achieving a monstrous PR while doing so under the heaviest down poor of the evening.

Saturday 4/6, at the Temple high school invitational, Temple University, E&S saw the distance team hog the spot light with a come from behind run by the Distance Medley relay team of Andrew Moreland, Jabari Nicholson, Thomas Gelaye and freshman Aaron Drumwright, whose 4:45.2 anchor leg split allowed the quartet to come from fifth position to capture second place, first Pennsylvania Finisher.

Not to be out done, Junior Meless Badume, along with Freshman Andrew Drumwright saw enormous personal records in the 1600m run. Badume bested his best time by over 10 seconds to go under the 5 minute mark for the first time in his career. Meanwhile, Andrew Moreland saw an even larger drop from his previous best.  His 25 Second improvement not only catapulted him to one of the top 5 boys milers in school history at 4:47!

The Sprinters got in on the action as well with the Girls’ 4x100m relay team of Sydnei Scipio, Shynice Youmans , Toluwanimi Olaleye and Lydia Wilson besting their heat by almost 60 meters!

The track Team returns to action This Thursday at Marcus foster stadium for their second league meet of the season.
