Six students from Carver participated in this season’s first expedition of Philadelphia Outward Bound. They backpacked more than fifteen miles over five days, starting at Dunfield Creek and ending near Crater Lake along the New Jersey portion of the Appalachian Trail. On Friday 3/1, 28 teams from six different high schools participated in the Annual Citywide Calculus Competition. Bodine, CAPA, Friends Select, Northeast, Palumbo, and hosts Carver E&S all competed. On Saturday February 16th, Jeremy Schmeltzer, Shamiyah Boozer and Lucas Graham competed in a Moot Court Competition at the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law. The competition involved Philadelphia High School students. Lucas Graham qualified for the National Competition in Washington, D.C. on April 5th.
Carver students joined the Philly Slam League as participants in the West Division. The seasoned opened on February 8th. Weekly bouts will be held at Parkway Central Library from 4:30-6pm. Details can be found here: http://www.phillyslamleague.org/
