E&S Wins Citywide Calculus Competition

Moot Court Nationals

Lucas Graham Qualifies for Moot Court Nationals

On Saturday February 16th, Jeremy Schmeltzer, Shamiyah Boozer and Lucas Graham competed in a Moot Court Competition at the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law. The competition involved Philadelphia High School students.  Lucas Graham qualified for the National Competition in Washington, D.C. on April 5th.

Carver Poetry Students Competing at the Central Library

Carver students joined the Philly Slam League as participants in the West Division. The seasoned opened on February 8th. Weekly bouts will be held at Parkway Central Library from 4:30-6pm. Details can be found here: http://www.phillyslamleague.org/

Carver Hosts Citywide ASAP Scolastic Chess Tournament and Finishes First

Chess players from all over the region converged on Carver Engineering and Science to play chess on Saturday, November 3rd.  The Carver Chess Team won first place overall.  Josiah Findley, Heng Xin-Wang and Nia Williams all won their sections.  There will be another chess tournament at Carver on Saturday, December 2nd.

Outward Bound

E&S Students Attend Five Day Canoe Expedition

Eleven high school students completed a five-day canoeing expedition with the Philadelphia Outward Bound School. They canoed over thirty miles, set up camp at five sites, and learned how to survive and thrive in the wilderness. They formed a close crew and had a great time!
