It was great to be back at States. Carver cleaned up at Friday Night Blitz. The team finished second in their section at the Main Event winning 4th place for combined sections and a few individual awards.
he Carver Ethics Bowl Team won first place in the Philadelphia Regional Ethics Bowl Competition, edging out four Masterman teams and two Palumbo teams. Carver also took home the Judges’ Choice Award.
Both Chess Teams won their first round matches. The Middle School went 6-0 against GAMP and the High School Team beat Lincoln 5-2. Both teams will play Masterman next week in the Semi-Finals.
The boys bowling team is off to a great start in the 2023 season. They are 24-0 Sophomore Returners and members of last years pub champ team Chase Moody, Masaki Dickerson and Jayden Brown have laid the foundation for more championships. E&S hosted a city-wide chess tournament on December 3rd, 2022. Over 100 players across the region came to our school to play 4 rated matches. Congratulations to 8th grader, Jason Andrew for winning the under 800 and 11th grader, Richard Robinson for taking second place in the open.
